The Encore edition of Silent Tears was launched today and I am thrilled to say that at this moment (could change quickly!) in Amazon rankings I am holding steady at #1 in Kindle books on Adoption and #7 in All Books on Adoption! I am so thrilled and honored. I really can’t believe it. Thanks, everyone!

I received my book on March 31 and finished it on Easter Sunday. My daughter is adopted from India. There aren’t quite as many books on India as China although they parallel a lot. Your book was a great read. Your thoughts and mine seem to be a little similar. I found myself shaking my head yes sometimes. I can’t quote it exactly but you are to the thinking that these people have been doing some of these things this way for centuries, who are we to come in and tell them they are wrong? I have told people this a few times. I call it the double-edge sword. Although I may not agree with it, who am I to say it is wrong? I don’t want my daughter to think her country is “wrong.” She is now 11 1/2. She has had questions for many years and so we have been speaking as candidly as possible on an age appropriate basis for years. She is now becoming old enough it is getting easier to speak a little more frankly. I must say though, that because of all the the talking we have done for years, it has made it much easier to discuss some of these harder issues. My husband just returned from China on business and said the one child policy is becoming a little more relaxed because of the economy getting better there and they realized there were actually not going to be enough people. A friend told me her friend just got her referral of a baby after FOUR years of waiting. Take care and congrats!

I just finished Silent Tears between homeschooling my eight children and teaching History classes at our local college. It took me two days but I had to put the book down to do my duties. I couldn’t wait to get back to it!!! Two of my children are from China. We would like to adopt more but China will not allow us to because of our family size. I am very interested to what has happened to Xiao Gou!!! Please add me to your update list!!! We would also be interested in sponsoring children.
